What We Do
Campaigns

Education requires experiences that can help students to look beyond the years they spend in school to the roles they can play in the future. They are becoming the citizens who will lead, perform, build and create the world ahead of us. We seek, with help from others, to make them the best-educated and most conscientious members of society that we have ever known.

The Newburyport Education Foundation offers donors meaningful, lasting opportunities to support excellence in public education in our city.
Our campaigns focus on enhancing our students’ experiences in the areas below. Click the icons to learn more, or click here to explore donation options.

What We Do
Teacher Tributes

You can recognize a teacher, staff member or administrator’s contribution to your student’s education during Teacher Appreciation Week, the end of the school year—or any time. Your gift will be invested in the school system through the NEF’s current campaign.

Your honoree (or honorees) will receive a personalized card including your message and a message from the NEF explaining you donated funds to the NEF in appreciation of their efforts along with a Teacher Tribute pin. An NEF volunteer will deliver the card and pin. It’s as simple as a few clicks for you and it helps the schools enhance education at the same time!

or Contact us at info@NewburyportEF.org if you have any questions.

What We Do
Naming Opportunities

Your gift to the NEF can be used to name a room or area at one of our schools—or a seat in an auditorium—in honor or in memory of a teacher, family member, alumni class, or loved one. A personalized plaque is prominently displayed with the honoree's name.

Opportunities range from $2,500 to $100,000. Donations can be made via secure online credit card, by mail, or in person. Please contact us for more information on completing your gift at info@newburyportef.org. Thank you for supporting the NEF and the Newburyport Public Schools.

What We Do
Partnership Grants

The Partnership Grant program connects teachers and business partners who then work together to create meaningful educational experiences that allow students to see how their skills apply to the world of work. The program integrates the standards-based curriculum content with work-based skills that provide an authentic learning experience. As a result of the program, students have chosen the specific fields explored through the partnership program as careers.

Do you have a project idea that could inspire students to explore learning opportunities that connects the community to the classroom or the classroom to the community?

Program Benefits

For Students: The curriculum and their experiential learning become more relevant by understanding the application in the real world. Fosters a higher level of student engagement in their which in turn enhances their their access to the curriculum.

For Teachers: Provides opportunities to expand their capacity by working with experts in their fields.

For Business Partners: Create a spark of interest for students – perhaps help them in finding their passion. Meaningful way to give back to the community by volunteering time and expertise, fostering highly rewarding collaborations with local educators and students..

Application Schedule

There are two application opportunities each year. For programs taking place in the Fall, applications are due the prior April/May. For programs taking place in the Spring, applications are due the prior September/October.
