Education requires experiences that can help students to look beyond the years they spend in school to the roles they can play in the future. They are becoming the citizens who will lead, perform, build and create the world ahead of us. We seek, with help from others, to make them the best-educated and most conscientious members of society that we have ever known.
The Newburyport Education Foundation offers donors meaningful, lasting opportunities to support excellence in public education in our city.
Our campaigns focus on enhancing our students’ experiences in the areas below. Click the icons to learn more, or click here to explore donation options.
You can recognize a teacher, staff member or administrator’s contribution to your student’s education during Teacher Appreciation Week, the end of the school year—or any time. Your gift will be invested in the school system through the NEF’s current campaign.
Your honoree (or honorees) will receive a personalized card including your message and a message from the NEF explaining you donated funds to the NEF in appreciation of their efforts along with a Teacher Tribute pin. An NEF volunteer will deliver the card and pin. It’s as simple as a few clicks for you and it helps the schools enhance education at the same time!

or Contact us at info@NewburyportEF.org if you have any questions.
Your gift to the NEF can be used to name a room or area at one of our schools—or a seat in an auditorium—in honor or in memory of a teacher, family member, alumni class, or loved one. A personalized plaque is prominently displayed with the honoree's name.
Opportunities range from $2,500 to $100,000. Donations can be made via secure online credit card, by mail, or in person. Please contact us for more information on completing your gift at info@newburyportef.org. Thank you for supporting the NEF and the Newburyport Public Schools.

Through the NEF, donors can name a room or area at the new Francis T. Bresnahan Elementary School to create a lasting tribute or memorial.
Naming opportunities range from $2,500 to $100,000. Contact us for more information on completing your gift at info@newburyportef.org.

“We have three boys going through the Bresnahan elementary school. Naming a room in the new building is the perfect opportunity to honor their grandfather and also support our public schools.“

The Teacher Innovation Grant Program empowers teachers to identify and implement innovative ideas that help students make connections between their academics and life outside of school, typically through project-based learning, extra-curricular activities, and connections with the broader local, state, national or global community. The program also encourages projects that promote lifelong learning or spark student interests in new areas.
Program Benefits
For Students: Provides powerful learning experiences, such as project-based learning, internships, leadership opportunities, extra-curricular activities, and connections with local or broader community members.
For Teachers: Provides resources to enable applied learning strategies, opportunities to collaborate with community businesses, and/or recognition for being innovative.
Application Schedule
There are two application opportunities each year. For programs taking place in the Fall, applications are due the prior April/May. For programs taking place in the Spring, applications are due the prior September/October.
If you are a teacher and have a question regarding aligning the project to the curriculum, please email Lisa Furlong. If you are ready to send us an application, apply via the form below.
